George Ludlam

George W.Ludlam, 45 years old, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. George was born on May 21, 1966 to James H. Ludlam and Etta L. Ludlam (nee McDevitt). George was a 1984 graduate of Pennsville Memorial High school, where he enjoyed playing Trumpet, French Horn and Mellophone with the marching and concert bands as well as participating in various foreign language clubs. After High School, George studied foreign language at West Chester University and was a member of the Golden Ram Marching Band. George spent 20 years as a Regional Director of a Mobile Nurse Placement Service. George enjoyed traveling both abroad and stateside, his favorite location being Paris, France, where he would often visit and spend time with his “French Family”. George lived throughout the country; Wilmington, DE, Philadelphia, PA, Boulder CO, and Baltimore, MD, before returning back to Pennsville, NJ to be with friends and family. One of George’s favorite experiences was about traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast with a friend and his cat “Sammy” in his convertible. George had a wonderful sense of humor as well as being a giving person, giving his parents the dream trip to Hawaii for their 40th wedding anniversary. George is survived by his Parents James H. and Etta L. Ludlam, his Brother James B. Ludlam and Sister-in-law, Marie Ludlam, his Sister Catherine Buckingham (Ludlam) and Brother-in-law, Jack Buckingham and his Nephew and Niece Jack Buckingham and Jamie Buckingham as well as loving Cousins, Aunts and his Dog Ellie. George was predeceased by his pets that he loved very much; Daisy, Sammy and Miss Kitty. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S. Broadway, Pennsville where friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 to 11 AM. Inurnment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Salem County Humane Society, PO Box 214, Carneys Point, NJ 08069. Afterglow - I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave When life is done.
