Frances Streitz

Frances Cecelia “Nana” Streitz, age 89, passed away at the home of her son in Pennsville, NJ on August 30, 2008. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Marguerite (nee Golterman) and John E. White, she resided in the Penns Grove / Carneys Point area most of her life. Frances was a St. James High School and Golden Beacom College graduate. She worked for the E.I. DuPont Nemours & Company’s Jackson Laboratory as a secretary from 1938 to 1945. After a ten year hiatus to assume responsibilities as a mother and homemaker, Frances returned to Jackson Laboratory in 1955 where she remained until her retirement in 1982. Frances was a single parent of four young children and dedicated her life to providing them with a secure and loving environment that subsequently extended to her grandchildren as well. Great joys in Frances’ life included being with her family camping, vacationing at the Jersey Shore, traveling the East Coast for her grandchildren’s softball and baseball games and celebrating family events. An avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, she also enjoyed opera, ballet and classical music. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Raymond and John E. White, Jr. and a sister, Sarah Spears, predeceased Frances. Frances is survived by her four children: Frances Elk of Tumon, Guam, Richard Streitz and wife, Penny of Bear, DE, Victoria Justice and husband, Hurff of Pedricktown, NJ and Jeffrey Streitz and wife Kathy of Pennsville, NJ; eight grandchildren: Christina Amos and husband Stephen, Jaclyn Minguez and husband Gary, Scott Streitz, Jeffrey Justice, Brian Streitz and wife, Samantha, Jillian Monticolo and husband Carlo, Matthew Streitz and Morgan Kolakowski; and six great grandchildren: Cecelia and Jack Amos, Hunter and Luc Streitz, Carlo Monticolo and Makenna Minguez. Private services have been arranged for the immediate family with interment at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.
