Audrey Patterson

In God’s perfect plan his servant Audrey Carol Patterson commenced her earthly life on New Years’ Day of 1939, the only child of the late Paul and Dorothy Jeker of Penns Grove, NJ. Audrey was nurtured in the great hope of the Christian gospel in Pedricktown Baptist Church where she was baptized, taught the saving Grace of Jesus Christ and was there married. Audrey was destined to live her three score and ten years, nearly to the day, within the bounds of rural south Jersey. Here she would meet and marry her adoring lifelong mate James Allen Patterson. In their 52 years of marriage Audrey bore him two sons and two daughters. All but one, Gail, who early departed this life in 1985 were by her bedside to bid her Godspeed on her journey to her eternal home on the afternoon of January 15, 2009. A more humble and caring soul one could not find. While profoundly missed, her life is celebrated by her devoted husband and their surviving three children and seven grandchildren. Audrey’s heritage of love will live on in eldest son James and wife Tara of Pennsville, NJ with grandchildren Trinity, Jared, Hanna, Joshua, Andrew, and Caitlin; son Chris and wife Kara of Lyndhurst, Ohio with newly arrived grandson Clark; and youngest daughter Laura and husband John Baker of Newark, Delaware with grandsons John, Brandon and Nolan. Her children and grandchildren were Audrey's chief occupation in life. Also commemorating Audrey’s life are Davis Patterson, only brother of James A., and his wife Diane and their family, all of Cumberland County, NJ. Jim, Audrey and the extended family would gather over the decades to rejoice in our blessings each Thanksgiving and Christmas and to celebrate the many family milestones. Audrey’s waning moments were filled with the love of her devoted family and friends rejoicing in joyful remembrances and with earnest prayer and tearful good-byes as she peacefully departed this temporal life for her eternal one. All praise and glory to our beneficent Lord who richly provided for His servant Audrey and her loved ones throughout both good times and heartbreaking times unto the end of her days. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S. Broadway, Pennsville, where a viewing will be held from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
