William C. Ottinger, age 73, passed away on November 11th at home surrounded by all of his loving family and friends. William is known by all for being the most kind and gentle man that the Lord could have ever placed on this Earth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that any of us could have ever wished for. He was an angel and now is at peace with the Lord. He will be missed more than anyone could ever imagine. William is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary D. Ottinger (Holmes), daughters Randi Anderson (and partner Paul Allen) of Pennsville, Rebecca Tewes (husband Terry) of Pennsville, 4 grandchildren, Brendan and Jordan Anderson and Bryce and Ava Monaghan. His brothers David Ottinger (wife Karen) of Newark, DE, George Ottinger of Seminole, and Carlton and Sarah Phillips (brother and sister-in-law) of Carneys Point. William is predeceased by his parents, George and Fannie Ottinger, sister Barbara Simmens, father and mother-in-law, Asa and Mary Holmes, sister-in-law, Rebecca Townsend and best friend ever, Archie Scott. William retired from DuPont after 37 years of service. He also worked at the Penn Tower Senior building for 10 years. He loved hot-rods, motorcycles, and snowmobiling. But being with family and friends was his greatest passion. A viewing will be held Fri., Nov. 15, 7:00-9:00pm at the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 47 State St., Penns Grove. Mass of Christian Burial will be Sat., Nov 16 10:00am at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish – Corpus Christi Church, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Penns Grove.
