Robert Stephen Gary, 60 of Pennsville, NJ passed away the morning of Wednesday, April 20th, in his home with family by his side. He is the son of the late Newcomb & June Gary. Bob was also a loving husband to Terri Gary and devoted father to his daughters Diana Gary-Karr (Matt) and Christina Gary. Most importantly he was the proud Poppy to his grandson, Kolton Karr. Bob is a 1974 graduate of Penns Grove High School. He was always known for being a hard worker and started working with his father at the family owned gas station, Gary’s Gulf in Carney’s Point, NJ. Bob then accepted a position at PSE&G, Artificial Island in 1982, where we would work until 2012, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a dedicated worker earning recognition from PSE&G for never taking a sick day in 25 years. Bob always liked to stay busy and spent many years volunteering his time at the Servicemen’s Club in Pennsgrove, NJ, were he once served as President, as well as, coaching baseball. After retirement Bob continued his working ways and helped his daughter Diana start her daycare center, Its My World Too, Inc. Bob enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and swimming in his pool. He had many friends and shared countless memories with them all, but some of his best memories were made on golf courses from New Jersey to Arizona with his best friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Monday in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S. Broadway, Pennsville where there will be a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bob’s name to their Relay for Life team,” Bob’s Buddies” at www.relay.acsevents.org
