Newcomb "Newk" G. Gary

Newcomb G. Gary passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015. He is survived by his son Robert and daughter in-law Terri, granddaughters Christina Dawn Gary, Diana Gary-Karr (Matt), and his great grandson Kolton Karr. Newk is also survived by his sister in-law and brother in-law Bonnie and Joe Englett. He was lovingly called "Pocky" by his grandchildren and extended family. Newk was predeceased by his wife of 60 years June Heilig Gary, both were 1948 graduates of Pennsgrove High School. He also was predeceased by brothers Joseph Gary and Edgar "Bud" Gary, his sisters Rose Troupe and Betty McCallister. Newk owned and operated Gary's Gulf and Bicycle shop in Carneys Point for many years. He also retired from Pennsgrove Carneys Point School District. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Beale DDE- 471. He was a lifetime member and past president of the Servicemen's Memorial Home. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11am in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S. Broadway, Pennsville where friends may call from 10-11am.
