Mary Agnes Cooker Yucis

April 1, 1927 - July 17, 2020

We are sad to announce the passing of Mary Agnes Cooker Yucis, 93 years old, of Carneys Point and Pennsville, NJ on July 17, 2020. Mary was born on April 1, 1927 in Philadelphia to William Ward Cooker and Mary Agnes Troy Cooker. After losing her parents at a young age she and her sisters went to live at Christ’s Home, an orphanage in Warminster, PA where she spent her formative years. She was married to Stanley F. Yucis of Penns Grove for 50 years and with him raised three sons, Tom, Tim and Matt. Mary had boundless energy and a huge heart overflowing with love for her family and friends and compassion for just about anyone she met. She loved spending time at the shore with her family. She had a free spirit and loved to travel and make new friends. She traveled to six of the seven continents and embraced adventure wherever she went whether it was riding an elephant in Thailand or a camel in Egypt, walking with lions in Zimbabwe, sailing down the Nile or going up in a hot air balloon in Cambodia. She loved setting foot on an airplane to see where it would take her. She managed to have fun no matter what she was doing. Even after being impaired by a stroke she was still able to share her love with others and her enthusiasm for life by her smile alone. She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Helen and Catherine, her brother William and her husband Stanley. She is survived by her three sons Thomas and Denise Yucis, Timothy Yucis and Matthew Yucis, her grandsons Thomas Yucis (Catrina) and Daniel Yucis (Julie) and great grandchildren Thomas, Sofia, Ana, Sara, Cara and Danny. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much and a multitude of friends who were one of the cornerstones of her life. Mary entered the world humbly and left quietly but lived a full, vibrant and adventurous life. She was always generous of spirit. She gave whatever she had whenever she could and loved spending time with everyone. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, July 21 at 11am at Lawnside Cemetery in Pilesgrove, NJ. Her family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to Christ’s Home Children’s Services, 800 York Road, Warminster, PA, 18974. (christshome.org) www.ashcraftfuneralhomes.com
