Mary Nancy Racite, 64, of Carney’s Point NJ, went to be with the Lord when she passed away peacefully at Underwood-Inspira Hospital Friday evening with her loving mother by her side. She was a 1968 graduate of Penns Grove High School, a licensed beautician and a licensed practical nurse. She was employed for 30 years as an LPN at Underwood-Inspira Hospital, where she was known throughout the area for her dedication and quality of care she provided for her patients. She loved her family and was compassionate to all animals, particularly her pet birds Lacy and Pumpkin. Mary is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Rivell Racite Zielsdorf, her brother Joseph Racite and wife Ardith, sister Patricia Livesay and husband David, sister Deborah Curtis and husband Dale, sister Susan, brother Alfio and wife Lisa, sister Lori Bruce and husband David, stepbrother Edwin Zielsdorf and his wife Barbara, stepbrother Ronald Zielsdorf, stepbrother Donald Zielsdorf and his wife Carol and stepsister Joan Graeber and her husband Alex, 14 nieces and nephews, countless great-nieces and nephews and her longtime friend and caretaker Diane Smith. Mary’s courage and resiliency in the face of multiple health issues served as an inspiration to us all, and her sense of humor and devotion to her family will be missed. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 47 State St., in Penns Grove where there will be a viewing from 10 to 11 AM. Interment will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent in Mary’s memory to the Salem County Humane Society, 214 N. Game Creek Rd.
