Margaret E. Bastrimovich
March 18, 1930 - September 17, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Bastrimovich announces her passing. Margaret remained sharp-witted and feisty until the end. Margaret was born in Rochester, NY, grew up in North Jersey, but lived most of her life in the Carneys Point area. She graduated from Saint James High School, and went on to enjoy a successful career as a businesswoman. She operated Tony's Tavern in Millville with her late husband Tony. Later, she went on to start Marge's Produce, which began as a table selling strawberries and blossomed into a large and successful produce market. In her retirement, Margaret stayed active, reading voraciously and following news, politics, and current events. There were very few subjects she couldn't converse intelligently on. Margaret was also a 44-year breast cancer survivor who beat back the malady with her characteristic grit and determination. She was also a lifelong Catholic, loyal to her faith to the end. Though she was a lifelong Republican since her first vote for Eisenhower in 1952, she was proud to cast her last presidential vote against Donald Trump. Her father's daughter, Margaret was always a take-charge person who faced many things, but always managed to handle any situation life threw at her with tenacity and fortitude. Her strength, character, and indomitable spirit were inspiring to all who knew her. Margaret was predeceased by her Husband Anthony. She was also predeceased by Sister Edith Garman, and brothers John Sattel, Eugene Sattel, and Frank Sattel. She is survived by her son Joseph Daniel (Dan) Bastrimovich of National Park, along with her beloved four-legged "grandson" Leroy as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 22 at 9:30 am at St. Gabriel's Church, 369 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point, NJ. Interment will be at Lawnside Cemetery in Pilesgrove, NJ.
