Kenneth D. Nixon
December 16, 1932 - March 2, 2021
Kenneth D. Nixon, age 88 of Penns Grove, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 under the care of Seasons Hospice in Newark, Delaware after a short stay. Ken retired after 25 years of service from General Motors in the paint department. He also served in the Air Force as a medic until returning home to take care of his family after the passing of his father. He enjoyed fishing and never missed a baseball game watching his grandsons and later his great grandsons play. He was their biggest fan. If he wasn't there, you would find him outside hanging out in his shed tinkering or watching TV. He always enjoyed family gatherings and our yearly crab party. Between his stories and quick wit, the laughter never stopped. He will always be remembered by his favorite line when anyone asked him how he was doing, always responding, "STILL SUCKING AIR". He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Clara Nixon, brother Lester and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Susie (Chiavoroli) Nixon, his two daughters; Cindy Buckley and Brenda Nixon. Three grandsons; Jim Buckley (Christina), Jason Buckley (Cara), and Justin Buckley (Amanda). Six great grandchildren; Jimmy, Jacob, Carley, Cassidy, Justin, and Jackson. Listening to stories about what they said or did that day always put a smile on his face. He is also survived by brothers Bobby and Tommy; sisters Shirley, Patsy and Ruth and many nieces and nephews and a lot of very good friends. Services will be private.
