Judith Ann (Garrison) Murphy, age 73, of Carneys Point, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022. She fought a valiant battle with chronic pain and illness but in the end, she was ready to go Home. Judith was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pedricktown for over 60 years having been baptized and taken in as a member in 1957. She had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Carneys Point since 2020. She served on the Board of Directors for the Penns Grove/Carneys Point Library and loved the job of reading to children every week at Story Hour. She was also a member of the Ranch Hope Auxiliary for Salem County. Judy owned and operated the Plain and Fancy Beauty Salon in Carneys Point. She met the love of her life in third grade. They started dating in high school, married in 1968 and would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this March 15th. She loved traveling with Jim, watching Hallmark movies and she was a talented crocheter, making dozens of baby blankets and sweaters. The biggest joy in her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite people called her Nana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. Garrison and Phyllis (Kiesel) Garrison and her sister, Carol S. Tozour. She was also predeceased by her best friend of 60 years, Janis Featherer Cooper. She is survived by her husband, James T. Murphy, her daughters Suzanne M. (Charles) Kidwell, Sherri L. (Jonathan) Kershner, her grandchildren: Katelyn Warren, Michelle Kershner, Matthew Warren, Thomas Kershner, Noelle Warren and Allyson Kershner as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 18th at Bethel Bible Baptist Church in Carneys Point from 9:30am until 11am with a service in celebration of Judith's life immediately following. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Bible Baptist Church.
