Robert R. Maxwell

Corporal Robert R. Maxwell of Carney’s Point, NJ passed away at home on Sunday, June 7th, 2015 at age of 43. Loving husband to Georgianne M. Maxwell (Pomponio) and devoted father to his three sons Anthony A. Maxwell (Welch), Gage M. Maxwell, and Cole R. Maxwell, and son of the late Reuben H. Maxwell Jr. and Carol Ann Maxwell (Cafaro). Rob was born in Wilmington, DE and raised in Penns Grove NJ until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1991. Rob proudly served in the USMC Reserves for 8 years and lived his life by the honor bestowed a US Marine. From a young age, Rob loved kids and spent his holidays collecting Toys for Tots and visiting hospitals in his Dress Blues to make children smile. Following the military, Rob worked as a Carpenter and Millwright and was the proud owner of RGA General Contracting in Pedricktown, NJ. Rob enjoyed riding bikes, driving lifted 4x4 trucks, and was a talented motorcycle rider. Rob’s proudest accomplishment was his family and he truly dedicated his life to raising his sons and being a loving and supportive husband. He made sure his boys rode dirt bikes, go-karts or anything with a motor, however if they wanted to ride, they had to fix their own tires and grease their own chains and he would stand back and keep an eye to make sure they were doing it right. Rob was usually in his garage fixing, building or fabricating something special for his wife and kids. Rob will be deeply and sorely missed by his family who feel truly blessed to have had him in their journey on Earth. Rob was pre-deceased by his father Reuben (Jr.) and survived by his wife, Georgianne, sons Anthony, Gage and Cole, mother Carol Maxwell, sister Lisa Maxwell, brother Bryan Maxwell, mother in law Sherry DiIenno, brothers in law Valentino Pomponio and Nicholas Cardoso, sisters in law Jennifer Cardoso and Toni Clark, nieces and nephews Melissa, Kristen, Dennis, Nicole, Dominic, Natalie, Vinny, and Marques, and goddaughter Sara. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday June 18th from 6-8pm, and Friday June 19th from 10-11 am with services at 11am in the Ashcraft Funeral Home, 47 State St., Penns Grove with burial following in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
