Lillian L. Lenig

Lillian L. Lenig, age 88, was born September 29, 1927 in Salem N.J., and resided in Penns Grove, New Jersey. Lillian passed peacefully in her home with family by her side on Friday October 9, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Linski. A Trenton State Teacher’s College graduate, Lillian taught business at Penns Grove- Carneys Point Regional High School. Lillian was an active member of the N.J.E.A., Salem County YMCA and Red Hats Society. She dedicated much of her time to her faith and was an active member of Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church of P.G., where she attended adult Sunday school. Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, James I. Lenig Sr. in 2014, brothers, Peter Linski (Olga), Edward Linski (Mary), Sister, Mary Hill (Charles), and sister-in-law Bridget Linski. She is survived by her four children, Edward (Barbara), James Jr., John (Deborah), David (Cathy), six grandchildren, Kristen Brown (Shawn), Andrew (Stephanie), Mark Lenig, Allison Lenig (Fiancé Jeffrey Leidner), Melissa Meadows (James), David Lenig (Lindsay), six great grandchildren, brother Alex Linski and sister-in-law Martha Linski. Lillian loved spending time with her family and friends, summers in Sea Isle City and traveling with Jim in their retirement. Gardening was her second love to her family. She took pride sharing her flowers and vegetables with neighbors, family and friends. Card club, swimming at the “Y” and Meal on Wheels were also activities she enjoyed through the years. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Thursday, October 15th from 7-9pm at Ashcraft Funeral Home, Penns Grove, N.J. 08069 and Friday from 9-10am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 17 Franklin St, Penns Grove, NJ 08069. Funerals services will follow and Interment will be held at Lawnside Cemetery in Pilesgrove, NJ.
