Jean E Agnew Dyson

Jean E Agnew Dyson, 97 a resident of Carneys Point N.J. passed away on her birthday August 31st with her family by her side. Born in West Pittston, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph & Adelaide (Reed) McGarry. Jean had perfect attendance through school and throughout her working years. Upon the death of her husband Pat, she attended Salem Community College where she graduated from with an LPN License. She was employed by Memorial Hospital of Salem County for 15 years. Jean was an active member of the St. Gabriel Archangel Parish and the Senior Saint’s group. Jean also delivered “Meals on Wheels” for many years She was in the bowling league at the YMCA. She enjoyed camping with the family, crossword, jigsaw puzzles and shopping. Jean especially loved feeding the birds and squirrels. In fact she was known to feed every bird in south Jersey. Jean saw the beauty in everyone and everything, she always looked at the good in people and if she knew you she genuinely cared for you. Most of all Jean loved God, the Church and her family. She is survived by her son Patrick and his wife Carolyn of Newark, De, Granddaughter Andrea Agnew and her Fiancé Chris Garrish of New Castle, Delaware, Brian Carter of Middletown De. Her Sister Claire Kohler of Carneys Point, NJ, Nieces, Linda McCormack of Wilmington, De., Nancy Kohler of Logan Twp., NJ, Barbara Kohler of Dillon Co., Janine Scanlon and her husband Mike of Harrisburg, Pa. She is also survived by Step-children Lemuel Dyson (Linda) of Carneys Point, Robert Dyson (Deborah) Riverview, Fla, Denise Dyson of New Castle, De. As well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sister Betty O'Boyle and Brother Joseph McGarry Jr., Husband Patrick P Agnew, her son Joseph M Agnew and her husband Lemuel A Dyson. We would like to say a special thank you to Nancy for everything you have done for Jean words cannot express our gratitude. We also want to thank the neighbors who have been so helpful, the entire staff at Marion Gardens, Golden Rehabilitation and to the ICU Nursing staff at Salem Medical Center that gave such compassion in caring for Jean. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 9th at St. Gabriel Archangel Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 369 Georgetown Rd., Carneys Point, NJ 08069. at 11am. Friends are invited to call 10am-11am., at the church. Following Mass interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery, E.
